Employment Assistance Ministry (EAM)
Free Job Search Support Group (Online)
The MISSION of this FREE ministry is to provide you, the job seeker, the resources needed to conduct a successful job search.

When your professional ship sinks, leaving you treading water, the emotional toll can be overwhelming. In this critical moment, the Employment Assistance Ministry (EAM) keeps you afloat. Operating as an online lifeline, EAM provides immediate spiritual and psychological rescue. Through faith-led weekly meetings and personalized coaching, they stabilize your confidence and ease the isolation of unemployment.
Most importantly, we help guide you in the direction of dry land, a place where your unique talents, gifts, skills and acheivements will be noticed by prospective employers
Once you discover a direction toward dry land, navigating the fiercely competitive job market requires distinct survival strategies. This is where Transition Masters (TM) takes over. Their free, structured 10-week virtual curriculum provides the modern survival skills needed to conquer this unfamiliar territory. TM teaches you to master self-presentation, decode job descriptions using AI, and command compensation negotiations. Transforming your communication habits ensures your value is recognized, allowing you to be successfully re-employed.
The Employment Assistance Ministry (EAM) is a faith-based, spirit-led support group that walks with people who are “in between jobs,” offering hope, guidance, and practical help in a compassionate community.
Our mission is to provide job seekers with the resources needed to conduct a successful job search and to care for their spiritual, emotional, and professional well-being along the way.
EAM serves anyone who is “in between jobs,” including people who are recently unemployed, underemployed, returning to the workforce, or discerning a new direction.
We are interdenominational and welcome participants from all faith traditions and backgrounds.
We combine emotional and spiritual support with practical job search help so you can move forward with confidence.
- Personal support and encouragement to keep your confidence strong.
- Practical resources for improving résumés, interviewing, and networking.
- Spiritual grounding to help you find peace and purpose during uncertainty.
- Connection and fellowship with others on similar journeys.
Our weekly gatherings are informal, welcoming, and grounded in faith.
- Opening reflection: Quiet time, often with scripture, to listen, pray, and center yourself in God’s presence.
- Group discussion: Conversation about the reflection and how it connects to your job search and daily life.
- What you need this week: Focused help on what will move you forward now—résumé assistance, networking support, career focus, or other concrete next steps.
- Closing prayer: Time to pray for one another and ask for guidance, strength, and gratitude.
We meet every Thursday morning at 9:00 AM (Eastern time) via Zoom.

The Employment Assistance Ministry began in 2006 as the “In-Between Jobs” Support Group (fka “In-Betweeners”) at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida. At the beginning of the Pandemic the ministry “re-tooled” so we could help job seekers online via ZOOM.
Since then, this all-volunteer ministry has helped thousands of jobseekers identify the right job, build critical job search skills, and secure their next position. Meet the support team
In partnership with the Franciscan Center, EAM now continues to meet fully online, allowing us to support jobseekers from anywhere with an internet connection.
Your participation and openness are an important part of this journey. We invite you to bring:
- An open mind, willing to learn and adapt to today’s job market.
- A willingness to do the work needed for a successful job search.
- Faith that your Creator wants good things for you and walks with you through this season.
