Our Mission
The Franciscan Center exists to witness Gospel values by providing a nurturing environment of peace, simplicity and hospitality. Amidst the beauty of God’s creation, all people are welcome to come for personal and spiritual renewal. Committed to the mission of Christ in the spirit of St. Francis, the Franciscan Center Family is dedicated to being open and responsive to the spiritual needs of our world both today and tomorrow.

The Franciscan Center is staffed by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, NY and dedicated laity who are assisted by loyal volunteers in carrying out their ministry. Throughout the year, various professional retreat directors also assist the staff. We welcome all to come and find acceptance, peace, and healing and to listen to God amidst the beauty of creation.

Riverside Pavilion
The Franciscan Center and the University of South Florida School of Architecture and Community Design collaborated on a design/build project that serves as a vehicle for hands on learning experiences in the community. The riverside pavilion designed and built by the students, in concert with community and industry leaders and advisors, capitalizes on the innate beauty of the Franciscan Center's tranquil, riverside site for an array of functions: meditation, prayer, spiritual direction, as well as seating for small and large groups. You can become a part of this special project with a donation toward a commemorative paver at the site. For more information about the Pavilion project, please contact us at (813) 229-2695. For photos, please visit www.usf.fabworkshop.com.
